Live From Chan Chan’s

There’s been so much happening! Halloween! Elections! Prop 8 passing (booooooo!)! And I’ve been trying to take my camera out as much as possible. I really regret not taking it with me Election Night, but maybe that was a good idea because I got a little tipsy with all of the street celebrations in the city. Holy moly, I barely made it up the hill home (there were moments I even considered stopping for a nap, but good thing I didn’t). A couple of cell phone shots can be found on my Flickr if you’re interested — they’re the blurry ones, haha.

This is what’s up:

Bob came up from So Cal for Halloween. We hit up a house party in the Lower Haight!

I love the idea of partying on steps, though they were pretty steep and someone was bound to eat shit down them:

There were a handful of Droog costumes. I think I took this picture because I was drunk and wanted my flash to lighten up the room so I could check this guy out. :P

More stairs action! Not one cop stopped by the whole night.

The other day I went for a walk around town for some “alone time exploration”, since the rain finally lightened up. The weather was cool and crisp, and the sky was beautiful. Check the Bay Bridge:

I think we’re all disappointed with the Prop 8 results. And if you’re not, you should be. But, it’s also brought the community together, too. I was coming home last night, getting off the subway when I got a text: “Candlelight vigil tonight at 6:30. SF City Hall. Bring candles in cups. Please forward.” I checked my clock and it was almost 6 already, and I had to get home to get my camera, and drop some things off. I made it by 7 though, and this what I walked up to:

Someone brought extras for those without. Very nice of them!

At the end of the end of the rally we all dropped our candle cups off at the Abe Lincoln statue:

Tonight: Paul Insect opening reception at FIFTY24SF Gallery in the Lower Height. Then some Wii madness at a friend’s. Did I mention that I’ve become addicted (and not too shabby, if I say so myself) to Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Shit rules!!
