Kickin’ it in Indio: Coachella 2008

For those of you who didn’t make it out to this year’s Coachella festival, in Indio, I’ve brought an all access account for you to enjoy. What a crazy three days it turned out being. It was a weekend filled with lots of water, friends, packed tents, and bike rides. Party!

Anyway, lets start…

When I arrived to Friday’s show, it was already around noon. Lunch time! This is my first meal of the weekend, coming straight out of artist catering! And yes, that’s Lentil salad! So good!

After lunch I headed over to the Outdoor Theatre to visit my co-worker, Westy. He was riding around on his new bike, that is totally fresh.

Then it was time to watch the first band on my list: Les Savy Fav. They ripped.

Struttin’ the fields, checking out the art and the people:

Golf carts: the only way to go!

Saw Kraftwerk on Saturday night. This video shot was during “Tour de France.”

I also bumped into this guy:

Went to the Sahara tent for M.I.A., which was out of control. The crowd swamped the place and they had to cut off access to the V.I.P. area. I barely made it in.

Sunday morning, I showed up early so we could shoot photos of out bikes. Glass House represent!

And I even made it in time to catch Love and Rockets’ sound check. Cool bobble heads!

On my way to breakfast, I came across Roger Water’s pig:

Dani and Jacky came out to the Fields. Good times!

We caught some of Kid Sister’s set in the Gobi, during sunset:

The crowd was beautifully lit:

After sundown I finally saw Modeselektor (my attempts in Europe failed, so I was pretty stoked to finally see ‘em), but didn’t take any photos because I was busy dancing. Hard. I started shooting again later in the night, for Justice’s set in the Sahara tent. Youngsters swarmin’…

D.A.N.C.E.….

And the last shot of the weekend…waddup, Kavinsky?
