Public Transit

Let's face it, with more than 9.6 million people -- nearly one-third of California's residents -- living, working, and playing within its 1,433-square-mile service area, there are going to be problems with over crowding and reliability.

But organizations like the Bus Riders Union are at work for progress, which has resulted in replacing MTA's 2,095 dilapidated diesel buses with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses -- transforming the MTA from the oldest, most polluting and mechanically unreliable bus fleet, to one of the most modern clean fuel bus fleets in the course of just one decade.

Unions are at work all over LA taking back the streets for the people.
