Claire: the Kafka file says you do the blog. Good to hear! Don't get me started on Beck, tho.

Oh, I can't resist: Have you heard this, per chance? Or, as Steven Shaviro writes: "Beck exemplifies the culture of appropriation at its most apolitical and benign." I also agree with Shaviro that Beck is much like Mick Jagger is all of his appropriations.

But do I rock Midnite Vultures like three times a week? Of course I do! I mean, "Peaches and Cream"? How can you not ♥ that genuine plasticity?

Get real paid, and I hope all's well.

CLAIRE. I am reading, during those between-times, when I am not off maritime adventuring. I'm so excited for you. Beautiful work.

I love the concept of 'the nudge'.

In so many areas of life we get settled into the comfortable and familiar ... in other words, a rut.

And so very often, all that it takes is a nudge, sometimes intentioned (or often without any intent at all) and suddenly, unexpectedly, we can see something that had been there all along, something that we had been totally oblivious to --or perhaps something that we had been studiously looking away from.

Sometimes all it takes is ... a nudge.

Keep nudging people, Claire.

P.S.,

Like Alisha, I would like to know how I could read a copy of Nudge.

YES WELCOME YES YES
this makes me very happy. it looks beautiful around here, and what a great letter from the editor. i'm so glad that you haven't sold yourself (or anyone else) short with nudge. risking elitism and irrelevance....seems so wrong until someone comes along and does it so right.

how can i get a copy of nudge?
