Pancake day is real.
February 24th, 2009 by Laura
Otherwise celebrated as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras, National Pancake Day is dedicated to using up the supply of eggs, milk, butter and other dairy products before the start of Lent. Pancake Tuesday, or Shrove Tuesday has become an international celebration complete with infamous races (the first recorded was in Olney, Buckinghamshire in 1445!), free pancakes at IHOP (srsly), and fluffy pillows of goodness stacking up in homes everywhere.
Today, we make pancakes! Until then, let’s share our favorite pancake varieties and/or memories of making them to get our griddles heating for the upcoming feast. Spill it.
