Fall Return: Babies Not Welcome
September 28th, 2008 by AlishaGear up, settle down and stay glued to these tubes between 8 and 9pm on Wednesday, October 1st. Within the hour, your favorite EM bloggers (which, coincidentally, is ALL OF THEM) will be posting BRAND NEW CONTENT!
Yes, you’re right, things have been a little quiet around here. And no, we don’t really have an excuse. Everyone’s got their reasons – mine include: mounting irrational fears that nobody likes what I write, the inability to channel my ideas into specific, manageable “topics,” and an addiction to free, streaming episodes of my favorite shows. But guess what? October called and said to stop being such a baby! So there. START OCTOBER RIGHT!
This hour will likely bring a mix of live blogging, free association, photo essays, poetry…dare I say music, video, and well crafted critical essays? Anything will do, really. Oh, and this includes all twenty-something of you on What I Wore Today. Just don’t let us see your diapers.
HHHIIIIICCCCUUUPPPP
September 23rd, 2008 by MatthewAh yes! We experienced a little hiccup today. It seems we were down for about 6 hours today! Don’t worry, we weren’t avoiding you. Our hosting company had a “filing” problem today. (God knows.) But I am here to tell you that we are back up and running. Hurry up and post your What I Wore Today and your comments on Nice. Don’t miss out!
A Nice thing

To fill that void in your life, the big nothing, everything all at once, we have a new project and your participation is required. A big part of our recent Movable Type upgrade was focused on the new community tools. What tools? What are you talking about? Let me tell you.
Have you ever wanted a place on Existential Media where you participate in a new way, beyond consumption and commenting, subscribing to feeds, lurking? Did you think one time you could use some collaboration with a project that you were working on? Or advice for the recipe you were perfecting? Vegan buttermilk? Some friendly TV discussions?
I understand, yes, you could do a “google” search and find all these things, but would they be existential? Probably not. (Are we releasing a browser? Probably not.) Well, are you curious? We decided that it was high time for Existential Media to have its very own forum. Yes, there is the exchange, but as we all know, no one from Existential Media uses that. Truly. And anyhow, most of EM lives in Los Angeles not Portland. Geographic facts people.
So, our very own forum, for you and me. Before I provide you the link, which you probably already have, I want to tell you the overall governing ideas behind it. Our forum is meant to not only be another place to chat, but a place for deep collaboration. We want you to plan your next project here, ask for advice, we are a solid community and we have a lot to offer to each other. So let’s support each other.
Welcome to the future of collaboration, Nice.
