Chew on this: Timely Dudes

“Of all the scientific intangibles that shape our lives, time is arguably the most elusive - and the most powerful.…Stealthy, imperceptible, time makes its presence known by transforming our sense of it into sensation.

Time on its legs, Time in bloom, Time gone swimming, Time from the wing of a plane—there are endless ways to reckon Time.

At Griffith Observatory, a “Foo-coe” pendulum oscillates relative to the earth and fixed stars, letting us indirectly observe sidereal time; or, time reckoned by the stars, rather than the sun.

The Aymara of South America are the only people known to visualize the future behind them and the past ahead.

In near death experiences, our brains process information more quickly, which means time actually slows. In fact, every time we alter our perception, we alter time, too.

It’s all about the Clockworks. This dude knows. And so do these dudes.
